James Southall Ltd, the parent company of Start-rite Shoes Ltd, has announced that Stephen Riley will be joining its Board, as Non-Executive Chairman.


Stephen has experience with 14 private and publically listed companies, specialising in consumer brands and international development, including Antler, Denby, Gilbert rugby, Salter, Sealskinz, Thomas Sanderson, Colman’s, Powakaddy Golf, Lemsip and Gaviscon.


Peter Lamble, Start-rite’s Chairman and CEO said “I am delighted that Stephen has agreed to join us. Stephen’s consumer and brand experience, combined with a common sense approach will ensure we remain focussed on this as the business progresses.”


Stephen’s appointment follows the recent announcement that Peter Lamble is to step down as the company’s joint Chairman/CEO after 20 years, as it looks to appoint a new Chairman and also a new Chief Executive.


Peter will remain in a key non-executive role on the James Southall B
