The only tradeshow on the planet solely dedicated to showcasing creative fashion with attitude, has launched the latest look book to give buyers a hint of what to expect from their favourite youth sub-culture brands for S/S’15. A commercial platform for exhibitors to show their work, both new and existing, LondonEdge continuously pushes the boundaries for new and emerging lifestyle sub-cultures. Leading the way in the trend-stakes with new, exciting and unique collections, here’s a round up of some of the trends buyers can look forward to at LondonEdge 1st-3rd February 2015.
Biker Noir
The modelling collaboration of biker babe Troy Roe and IT girl Romanie Smith takes on an old-school gritty influence from the likes of Black Sabbath and Easy Rider. Biker Noir combines the 1960s rockers with the underground trends as seen by Sons of Anarchy and Alex Turner. Including pieces by the likes of Lucky 13, Pamela Mann, Collectif, Queen of Darkness it’s a case of all black everything with a dash of classic sultry 60s glamour à la Bridgette Bardot, to see this trend ride the biker revival straight into the 21st Century.
Candi Com
Cute as a button, Candi Com is influenced by the underground Japanese Lolita sub-culture. Highlighted by candy coloured designs and futuristic latex cyber-wear which meets UK street culture, this eye-catching collection is a nod to the Comic Con culture that is growing in popularity all over the world. With vibrant prints, metallic madness and structural garments from brands such as Yummy Gummy Latex, Iron Fist and Extreme Largeness, this trend is unique, eye-popping and guaranteed to set trends.
Prim & Prom
Pretty in pink meets the 1950s pin-up, Prim & Prom is feminine chic at it’s finest. A complimentary blend of floral, polka dots and perfect prints, these collections showcase traditional shapes to bring out the girly girl in every woman. Inspired by the Stepford Wives, doll-like poses, to die for accessories and groomed to perfection, these beautifully crafted garments are retro at its finest.
Look for collections such as Hell Bunny, Collectif, Voodoo Vixen and Bettie Page by Ellie to create these stunning looks in store. Teamed with fabulous roles and waves, Prim & Prom is Barbie Girl glamour to suit every Mean Girl at school.
Gypsy Shadow
The occult trend still reigns strong, with all over print symbols and slogan tee’s now a staple for any King or Queen of the underground, but we’ve noticed a more ethereal, witchy vibe taking place around the globe. An edge of mystery inspired by cult 90s film The Craft, and channelling a dreamy 70’s feel with a dark, witchy twist makes this look a perfect LondonEdge blend. This monochrome style combines flowing fabrics of traditional gypsy looks, contemporary prints and pagan styles to bring the garments to life. Brands like Widow, Dead Threads and Bullet 69 we’re looking forward to a softer era for the gothic trend.
