• Don't get sloppy 

  Slippers headed the national headlines recently when the charity Age Concern launched a Slipper Amnesty Campaign. Elderly people were urged to swap their potentially worn out and dangerous slippers for a safer new pair. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has in the past warned of that sloppy slippers are a contributory factor in many home falls, particularly among the elderly.

  Research has shown that a third of all people over 65 will trip or fall each year, with even higher rates for those above the age of 75. These accidents are often caused by worn slippers and, unfortunately, it is the most likely accident that people of this age group will have.

• World's first "cool" house shoe 

  Following the debut of Homeys last year, we now have the world's first, "cool" house shoe. With distribution now set up globally, the brand has taken off in a big way.

  From launch in March 2008, the brand has sold across the world with recent orders placed by Office Shoes and Top Man. They seem to create a real bond with their fans, often writing in to thank the brand for such a great product, loyalty rarely seen in today's fast fashion environment. Recent fans include Ant & Dec and Chris Moyles (who wears them religiously).

  At the end of a long day, it's a lovely feeling to slip into a pair of warm, cosy slippers.  But, slippers have never quite mastered the "cool" factor, pined for the new age man. That is, until now. For Autumn/Winter 2008 we see the debut of Homeys, officially the world's first, "cool" house shoe.

• Moshulu Slippers have become the most important part of the MOSHULU winter collection in terms of pairage sold and it is with this collection that the designers have had a clear canvas to be inventive. And not just inventive, but creative and downright crazy! Every slipper collection has pushed back the boundaries of what was considered safe and predictable. Of course they sell navy slippers but the prints, the new materials and the lightweight constructions have carved out a loyal customer base that returns season after season to see what they come up with next.
