    Prolog Logistics has reconfigured and expanded its dedicated warehousing and fulfilment operation for fashion footwear retailer, Base London. New, shorter racking at one of Prolog’s six high capacity storage facilities at Sherwood Park in the East Midlands puts increased emphasis on hand picking, and will ensure quicker, more accurate fulfilment to high street retail outlets to meet growing customer demand for Base London’s range of men’s fashion shoes.

  • Two parties circle Dolcis

    Private company Epic and a footwear manufacturer from the Far East are both eyeing Alexon’s loss making chain Dolcis which has been touted in the industry for 4 months. The price for the company is £3 million, a far cry from the original £17 million that was presented to the market in July.

  • 10th anniversary for Chatham’s Washable Deck Shoes

    It’s 10 years since Chatham launched the first washable deck shoes. In a joint development with Prime Tanning USA, Chatham produced a waterproof leather that absorbed only 30% of the water of a normal leather when washed. The idea was an instant success and has been taken up by other brands over the years.

  • Putting the boot in

    Centriquip, the centrifuge manufacturer from Derbyshire, has been working with its US partner, U.S. Centrifuge, to develop a way of testing boots for soldiers to make sure their feet stay dry in even the harshest conditions. The system uses a centrifuge to spin the boots around, filled with water, to prove that nothing leaks out: if nothing gets out, nothing will get in.
