Research report findings into the Cut Make Trim (CMT) sector have been released by Skillfast-UK, the Sector Skills Council for the apparel, footwear and textiles sector, which refute the traditional image that a CMT business is a backstreet operator.
The majority of CMT businesses that participated in Skillfast- UK's study were found to be well established concerns, having been trading for ten years with two in five establishments operating for over twenty years.
Skillfast-UK interviewed a wide variety of CMT firms, many of whom service internationally renowned brands including: Vivienne Westwood, Jasper Conran, and Burberry. The firms interviewed also deal with a significant proportion of the major high street chains such as Topshop, River Island, upmarket retailers such as John Lewis and discount chains including Primark and Matalan.
Companies who want to find out more about the research findings can visit the Skillfast-UK website at www.skillfast-uk.org or contact Peter Glover on peter_glover@skillfast-uk.org
