Society of Shoe Fitters member, Paulo Silva lives and works in Portugal at the renowned Iberian store chain "El Corte Inglés" in V. N. Gaia as athletic shoes and textile manager. An expert in athletic footwear, Paulo has had his work published in various sport and podiatric books and magazines, but his recent claim to fame is appearing on a daily live entertainment show on TV1.
TV1 decided March 6th would be "shoe lace day" and Paulo was invited onto the show to illustrate the numerous ways you can lace your trainers, and talk about how the fit of a shoe can be improved by different lacing methods. As a Society of Shoe Fitters member he took along the Societies recognisable logo and foot gauge, measured the attractive hostess; and amazed the audience at the many different methods and just how quickly he could tie a lace!
Laura the SSF Secretary said "It’s great to see our members promoting any aspect of shoe fitting, especially on the TV". "A good product is vital to sustain sales, but good promotion is equally key in making a product successful. Shoes are no exception – they won’t sell themselves. Our Society certainly gives members confidence to shout about the products they retail and Paulo has certainly proved that.’ said Laura.
