Care International challenges fashion and retail sector

Leading overseas development agency CARE International is delighted to announce the launch of the fifth Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge, exclusively for the fashion and fashion retail industry.
This challenge, which is supported by Footwear Today, will take place in the stunning Exmoor National Park on 22nd May 2010. Teams from across the industry will hike, bike and canoe the distance of a marathon in a day.
The Adventure Challenge offers participants an unusual, fun way of testing themselves personally, as well as providing a refreshing and imaginative brand of team building amongst colleagues.
CARE Challenge Manager Neil Munro said, “This event is an excellent networking opportunity within the industry, and a great way of creating a valuable rapport amongst colleagues. Past events have all been extremely successful and we’ve had fantastic feedback from participants. Team members have the opportunity to train, fundraise and complete the challenge together, and there’s a huge sense of achievement- not least because the funds raised will support CARE’s essential work overseas.”
CARE works in 70 countries helping 65 million of the world’s poorest people find a route out of poverty. CARE’s work is of relevance to the fashion industry, as projects include working with garment workers in the poorest countries to educate them and teach them about their rights, making them less susceptible to exploitation.
Challenge participants can be sure their money is going where it’s needed most, as ninety one pence in every pound raised for CARE goes directly to fund their work overseas.
Neil is confident this year’s event will be the best yet. “The Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge is one of the most fun and unusual challenges in our calendar. Last year’s event was great fun and teams are already looking forward to taking part again. We’re hoping to top our £60,000 fundraising record for the Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge, so we urge teams to get signed up!”
CARE’s Challenge Team offer participants expert advice on training and fundraising. The final challenge of the event will be summoning enough energy for the post-event reception where teams can toast the top fundraisers and celebrate a great achievement.
