Jimmy Choo’s line for H&M: an instant success

Published:  14 January, 2010

The collaboration of Hannes & Mauritz with Jimmy Choo appears to have been much better than its previous partnership with Karl Lagerfeld and many other big-name designers. H&M stores in 200 cities around the world recently opened to lines of people who had been camping outside for hours, waiting to get their chance at the new line of shoes, accessories and clothes signed for the low-priced chain by Jimmy Choo. The shoes were also on offer on H&M’s website. The collection, Jimmy Choo for H&M, sold out quickly as customers snatched up the designer’s products, with shoes costing less than $300 -hundreds of dollars cheaper than his regular line. New York’s Daily News reported two days later that many of the purchases being sold on eBay – for twice the price as at H&M.
