Actinic EPOS
Published:  01 May, 2007

Bossy Boots is an ambitious and growing footwear retailer based in the north-east of England, with four stores in Blackburn, Preston and Ashton-under-Lyne. To tie in with expansion plans, it was looking for a reliable, fully featured EPOS system for their business, when a friend recommended Actinic EPOS (www.actinic.co.uk/epos).

The system manages the company’s whole inventory, creating and printing purchase orders for each supplier. Shelf edge tickets and barcodes are printed using a normal A4 printer. Stocktaking has become much faster and simpler, enabling a full stock-take in just a couple of hours.

According to Director Nick Walls, the improvement in their business has been tangible: "The system has enabled us to increase our profitability, we have reduced our stock holding, and efficiency had improved by 25% or even more," he says. "It also provides all of the business information we need, right at our fingertips."

Because Actinic EPOS is based upon a Windows PC, the interface is familiar and easy to use, and staff training is relatively straightforward. "They pick it up pretty quickly," Nick admits. "Support was an important factor for us and this is excellent. Actinic can even dial-in and remote control my system whenever I have any queries. I really couldn’t be happier."
