INTERSPORT UK RECRUITS SENIOR MARKETEER AS MARKETING INVESTMENT GROWS

INTERSPORT, the premier global buying group brand in centralising its in-house marketing role has appointed Susan Herbert as Marketing and Communication manager.

Susan was previously in charge of brand direction and strategy for Love Hearts Jewellery, with special responsibility for launching the brand and the development of distribution channels, before which she was Brand Director of adidas & Ellesse Watches responsible for the brand’s marketing and communication strategy and product development.

“We are delighted to welcome Susan to this new, combined post,” said Barry Mellis, INTERSPORT’S General Manager, commenting on the appointment. “Marketing communications is assuming far greater relevance for us as a brand, especially as we work closer with our leading suppliers, such as adidas, Nike and Asics on nationally based, promotional initiatives directed, more and more, towards the consumer.”

Adding, he commented: “Susan brings with her strong managerial experience, and sound professional qualifications.  I believe her appointment will be a great asset to the company as it will also offer a new dimension and greater clarity to our marketing as we look to raise our profile on the High Street and continue to stamp our imprint on the industry.”

INTERSPORT have recently launched the brand’s first national consumer competition through its members in co-operation with adidas and is about to embark on a further major consumer promotion in conjunction with Asics.
