BULAGGI®’s first charity project is a success

The special campaign around the Rainbow Collection of ladies’ handbags by fashion label BULAGGI® has raised 40,000 euros. The entire proceeds will go directly to the Thai Tamar Center in Pattaya, where ex-prostitutes are provided shelter and receive help in building a new future. The BULAGGI® Rainbow campaign was the first project of the BULAGGI® Charity Foundation after its establishment last year.

BULAGGI®’s director Arjan Walraven is happy with this fantastic result: “Being able to donate so much money to this wonderful foundation makes me a grateful person. We would like to thank the media and our customers for their support during this campaign. It is heart-warming to know that even in times of economic crisis we are all willing to open up our hearts and our purses for those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Tamar Center

The Thai Tamar Center in Pattaya, the heart of the prostitution industry in Thailand, offers women the opportunity to make a livelihood through making beautiful cards under the name of Tamar Cards. They can also work at a hairdressing salon, a bakery or a restaurant, for example. Enabling the women to earn a living for themselves in a respectable way helps them to regain their dignity.

New housing accommodation

Nella Davidse, the Director of the Tamar Center, reacts enthusiastically to the good news: “The expansion of our training center has brought a need for more living accommodation for the women who join our programme. Our plan is to buy a plot of land where we can build extra living accommodation for these women and their children. We wish to use the donation for this purpose.” Davidse continues: “The fact that the women also received a Rainbow bag for themselves came as a great surprise. Very many thanks to BULAGGI® and everyone who contributed to this cause.”
