THIERRY RABOTIN FALL - WINTER 2011/12 COLLECTION
Published: 07 March, 2011
Thierry Rabotin firmly believes that natural materials are essential and irreplaceable.
By using only hand selected fine leathers, he not only distinguishes himself by
meeting high quality criteria, but also reaffirms his belief that this incomparable
material is particularly well suited to creating tactile and visual perceptions of the
product. Ultra light glove-soft lambskin nappa, with smooth or perlato surface, lizard
or snakeskin printed velvet-like kid-suede, supple calfskin and milled patent leather
make each Thierry Rabotin style for Fall-Winter 2011/12 truly unique.
The season’s colours that range from light and luminous to bold and energetic
enhance the leathers with their vibrant, soothing effects. Alongside of fresh shades,
especially the pure winter white, there are pastels – pink and powder, naturals such
as camel and beige and the new neutrals – chalk and fango each conveying a
sensation of exquisite harmony. The different shades of green and brown – olive,
moss, chestnut and mahogany – create a warm and reassuring mood, while the reds,
from wine to amaranth, give the leopard prints a unique and unexpected optical
effect. Together with black, the dark blues and grays are the perfect tones for pumps
and elegant boots, while orange, yellow and bluette, either singly or together, add a
cheerful touch to the entire palette.
The shoes made with the “sacchetto” or flexible methods – the pride of the Thierry
Rabotin brand – combine sophistication with the power of seduction. The pumps built
on Louis XV heels feature asymmetrical, rounded or slightly oval last shape and builtup
toe detailing. The versions with high vamps or instep strap are characterized by
steep heels, or wedge heels, and skillfully draped vamps. There is no lack of graceful
ornaments such as bows or charmingly patterned elasticized ribbons that emphasize
the vamp edge, but also visible, functional accessories, especially large straps with
eye-catching buckle detailing. Ultra-lightweight lace-ups with supple rubber soles and
quilted or padded details offer the most wonderful combination of comfort and chic.
Ankle or knee-high boots with tapered or built-up toe feature contrasting elastic or
functional, around-the-leg straps, comfortable flared heels and linings that work
wonders against cold and frost.
