Rocawear kicks off Spring Summer ’12 with a new footwear collection

Rocawear will launch their new footwear collection for Spring Summer ‘12 which hints at the future aesthetic of the brand emphasizing European trend relevance with its evolving style credentials. Styles such as the Chunk Wedge Chukka, Espa Derby, Prima Luxe, Volley Nylon high top, Volley Docker and Slim Hiker illustrate these references. The collection features high tops, hiking boots and slim low cut styles, which will cater to both, the European trend conscious consumer and the already exiting street style shopper.

A key style to front this new direction will be the Chunk Wedge Chukka. Crafted out of suede, this key piece reflects footwear trends for Spring Summer ‘12 offering colourways of beige and brown.

The Volley Nylon Hi, echoes the brand’s fresh European focus and exemplifies its increasing style merit. Made from nylon, this high top is available in both black and navy.

A real statement for Spring Summer ‘12 is the Espa Derby. These espadrilles are manufactured from canvas and will be available in beige and navy. This original style offers an appeal to a wider audience and will also be available as a slip-on version in both existing colourways.

Rocawear, the $800,000,000 US Street brand, formed by Jay Z is to be re-launched as part of the Iconix Brands expansion into Europe. The newly formed Iconix Europe, which boasts an impressive 17 trademarks, is a joint venture between the US-based Iconix Brand Group and The Licensing Company. Iconix Europe are strategically widening Rocawear’s appeal to a far wider, mainstream target market of 18-30 year old brand and music aware consumers and street style leaders.
