Loake to raise UK profile with London store

Heritage footwear brand Loake will increase its presence in the UK market with the opening of a London store this autumn. The new shop in Piccadilly’s Prince’s Arcade will open in mid November and showcase the English shoemaker’s craftsmanship.

Nestled in between Fortnum & Mason and Isaac Newton's house, the recently refurbished Prince’sArcadeis close toJermyn Streetand rapidly developing a reputation as a retail destination for the well-heeled gentleman, focusing on menswear and leathergoods.

The move into bricks and mortar retailing is a first for Loake, although the company was the first of the Northamptonshire shoemakers to introduce a transactional website approximately three years ago.

‘The opening of aLondonstore is part of a concerted effort to strengthen our position in the home market and to support ourUKstockists,’ said managing director Andrew Loake. ‘The last few years have seen good international growth for Loake, now it is time to consolidate in theUK.’

Also this autumn, new advertising creative is appearing in key men’s style press and national newspaper supplements, including Shortlist, GQ, The Times and The Telegraph.

Loake is also shortly to update its website with improved functionality and a more contemporary look.

Loake has over 1,000 stockists in theUK. For S/S12 the brand has introduced some bold reinterpretations of classic styles to appeal to younger customer, as well as more relaxed shapes and materials in its more traditional ranges.
