Obituary - Marshall Wilson Falconer 14/10/1943-01/07/2011

Published:  25 January, 2012

A celebration of Marshall’s life was held in Clydebank, Glasgow on 12th July, attended by well over 200 of his friends and colleagues. Marshall entered the shoe trade in 1963, joining Barkers of Earls Barton, and taking over from his Uncle as the Scottish agent.  Marshall was known as The Godfather of sales agents, organizing stockrooms with military precision, and fighting for reps rights; he famously fought for agents to be paid commission on shoes ordered not on shoes delivered !  During his time, he was also the representative for the Florida Group- Van-dal Shoes, Callaghan, Paul Green, and Ara.

A  keen curler, and golfer, he played in The National Shoe Trades Championship on many occasions.

Marshall is survived by his loving wife Margaret, son Andrew, daughter Margaret, daughter and son-in-law Suzie and Gus and 5 grandchildren.

Marshall will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.
