JACOBSON GROUP SNAPS UP DOLCIS
Published: 30 January, 2012
Following the administration of the Barratts Priceless Group, Jacobson Group has bought the intellectual property rights to the Dolcis brand. Dolcis is a great complement to the Jacobson stable of brands; it will sit well in the group’s existing portfolio which includes Gola, Lotus, Ravel and Frank Wright.
Before finalising the exact details of the Dolcis brand profile moving forward, Jacobson Group intends to carry out a full review of their portfolio mix in order to ensure the perfect fit in their brand hierarchy. The debut Dolcis collection will be for SS13 and will focus on young female fashion with a view to moving into other categories in future seasons.
Tony Evans, Jacobson Group managing director confirmed that heritage will be a key marketing tool, “The Dolcis brand dates back to 1863 and already we have started to develop a great archive of material which we’ll use to form the core focus of the range to give it a genuine USP. Dolcis has a high level of consumer awareness; this is a strength that we will capitalise on in our development of the brand.”
The Dolcis brand will operate from the Jacobson head office and will be supported by a specifically formulated team which will draw on Jacobson’s wealth of footwear sourcing, design expertise, marketing and sales experience.
Dolcis was founded in 1863 with the first store opening in Woolwich.
- 2013 will see the brand’s 150th anniversary.
