Underlining its commitment to British footwear manufacturing Beaconsfield Footwear Ltd has invested £250,000 in a state-ofthe- art computerised conveyor system for directly moulding its Hotter Comfort Concept shoes.
“The shoes on this line are now made on a computer controlled conveyor system, which relies on state-of-the-art robotic technology to undertake precise engineering actions with the pinpoint accuracy that cannot be replicated by the most experienced shoe maker. Quality has therefore improved .”
Explains Stewart Houlgrave, Managing Director for the brand.
The investment will bring a much needed boost in capacity for the Lancashire shoe maker, whose turnover has risen from £27 million to £35 million in the last three years. In an innovative solution to retain control of its product sales this unusual shoe manufacturer launched a direct mail business in 1996, which has catapulted brand recognition to an all time high.
