The aim of the award is to assist a talented individual, or partnership, who has the potential to become a shaper and mover of the future. A cash award of £4,000, plus mentoring from leading established names in the footwear industry, makes up the Footwear Friends Designer Award.

The award will be launched on July 10th 2007. The first years judging will take place in the autumn with the inaugural winner of the award being announced in October 2007.
