Published:  01 September, 2007

The Micam ShoeEvent takes place this season from the 20th-23rd September 2007at the Fiera Milano in Milan, Italy. The event has rapidly become a "must see" expedition for buyers and retailers worldwide and, located in the heart of Milan offers a beautiful, accessible setting to showcase footwear from all sides of the world and all areas of the industry.

The event will showcase 1695 exhibitors from sports, fashion, comfort, children's and designer segments of the footwear trade. This season sees 87 British exhibitors running from top end designer brands such as Gina, Jane Brown, Emma Hope and Beatrix Ong to British favourites Jacobson and fashion statement brand Irregular Choice.

Emotion shoes are one of the exhibitors gracing the show floor this month, and are set to set buyers pulses racing with a series of fashion forward offerings that fill a niche for fashionable shoes in larger sizes. Visitors can look forward to styles ranging from ethnically inspired sandals to ballerina pumps for the summer, and Emotion are particularly excited about the higher fashion elements that the brand has worked on this season.

Barker will also have their regular spot at the show. The traditional Goodyear Welted mens shoes are popular throughout Europe for their high level of quality and their "made to last" feel. This season, Barkers have upped a gear on the fashion front and are offering far more fashion forward brogues and statement perforated finished shoes.

Babycham and Nanny State will be showing Spring 2008 lines at the Micam event, along with some of the A/W 2007 stock lines.

"Micam is a great show for us as not only do we see all of our major UK accounts, but it is great for international customers and is definitely the major footwear show in Europe." Says Darren Roe from the brand.

This season Nanny State have added quirky style twists to their best selling ranges, including the full brogue, toe shoes and shield points. The new range has been developed to create a sleeker and more sophisticated style. With new subtle introductions of wax laces, unique design and distinctive detailing, with prints including camo, neon and metallic’s. The Premium range is launched for S/S 08 with styles including leather linings and a new distinctive branding. Coinciding with this launch is the introduction of two casual wear trainer ranges, with sleek lines and the use of complimentary materials. Prices range from £16 - £32 wholesale for the Nanny State collection and from £28 for the premium range.

British favourite quirky brand, Rocket Dog will also be showing at the event. "MICAM is a key trade show for Rocket Dog and the show never fails to disappoint with a great range of new and existing customers." Say brand officials. "Rocket Dog is looking forward to showcasing the new additions to the ranges and obtaining feedback from key customers."

The SS08 collections for women, men and children include many new styles, fabrics and colours and will leave buyers visiting the stand spoilt for choice. Summery brights and pastel tones compliment earthy tones and monochrome patterns within the range which offers flip flops, pumps, heels and boots to suit every footwear need.

Laceys London are also looking to a hopeful Micam this season:

"Building on the success of their best ever showing at Moda Footwear in August , Laceys London are looking forward to a similar reaction to their Spring 2008 collection at Micam." explains Michael Ridgeway from the brand "The collection features a stunning array of high fashion concepts married with real commercial winners. Combining a blend of different wedge and heel heights (some stunning highs are a must see!) and including flat sandals to good effect the palette is contemporary and elegant. Multiple straps, lace and interlink adding colour and appeal. Buckles and stud work add detail and a masculine identity. Patents are present and particularly the strong use of mirrored leathers adds glamour and passion to a collection which is as cool and as diverse as ever.’
