One of the most important showcases for the finest designers and manufacturers in Europe, The Kensington Shoe Event may be a compact show, but it is well worth a visit. The idea for this event, held in the Royal Borough of Kensington, at the beautiful Kensington Close Hotel, is to retain a varied mix of medium to high grade products that suits the target buyer who visits the show, namely boutique and independents, who are not fond of the bustle and over crowdedness of the large international exhibition.
The number of exhibitors have grown over the last few seasons, without making an impact on what the show hopes to achieve. This season looks forward to wealth of Italian, French , Spanish and German made footwear, all with organisers Martin Ward and Renato De Angelis's stamp of approval as footwear experts within the industry.
The forthcoming Kensington Shoe Event will be held from 30th September - 2nd October 2007, and hopes to echo its past successes as an event with a high level of quality brands, in a comfortable setting for buyers to browse at their own pace and leisure. This season sees several agents returning to the show to exhibit collections from Spring/Summer 2008, including Accesore, Air, Alaluna, Aberto Zago, Alexandria, Amalfi, Amberland, Annexe, Antonio Acquaviva, Arche, Arcus, Bacarolle, Bellina, Borgo Degli Uliva, Brunate, Bruno Premi, Caprice, Carioka, Carmen Poveda, Cefalu, Christian Rossi, Danilo Marchio, Donna Carolina, Doozies, Ferrerias, Gardenia, Guglielmo Rotta, Harre Hendriks, Hispanitas, Jaime Mascaro, Javie Carbonell. Rosemary Dartnall is one of the new exhibitors showcasing at the event. She will be showing Manas, who relaunched it's Design and Lea Foscati branding in September last year, and has followed this with a new style in it's advertising and POS material - in collaboration with Italian guru Olivero Toscani.
"This is an exciting new take on it's first released range for spring, manas design. The styling is more interesting and more fashionable, with Manas constant attention to detail."
Visitors to the event can look forward to slick Italian made high fashion footwear for women from the brand:
"It is both exciting and commercial, with prices always that little bit lower than you might expect" continues Dartnall. "We will show both ranges at KSE and look forward to exhibiting for the first time at this show."
David Freed will be showing several styles at The Kensington Shoe Event, including Amalfi - beautiful Italian made ladies shoes and sandals, available in a big selection of widths and sizes, specifically targetted at the Independent shoe retailer. He will also show Bellina - a great new Italian collection of ladies shoes and sandals, with that fashion edge, and great profit opportunity. His range of Xsensible are the only stretch leather shoes available, Freed looks to do extremely well with the range this season.
"This will be their first time at The Kensington Shoe Event and buyers will certainly appreciate this unique technology." He said.
Caprice are always a success at the show, and this season should be no different with their range of exclusive patented innovations "On Air", "Antishokk" and "Superflexibel" known as Walking on Air". The "RollTec" heel has achieved success to get close to the natural feeling of walking barefoot.
Chris Dagless is also looking forward to another exciting event this season around, with his two main brands, famous brand Patricia and Sachelle.
Sachelle is part of Spanish Group supplying quality ladies fashion shoes and bags who have been manufacturing over 40 years. The new ranges are now being developed by a fresh young designer Paco Gil with a family history of years of experience of design, his father being one of the top designers in Spain. The label consists of two sub categories: Couture and SHE.
"Couture is the dress shoe and handbag collection. This aims for the middle to top end independent shoe boutique and dress shops showing distinctive leathers and materials to co ordinate with the seasons fashion colours .This season there are some great new fabrics being used which are very exclusive to the brand." Explains Dagless."SHE Sachelle has a slightly more casual feel to it and appeals to the person who would follow higher fashion designs. This summer there are some great shapes and as we see already the strong patent story from the winter has gone through to the summer. Paco Gil has managed to create some very distinctive looks with many multiple coloured shoes being developed, they will certainly brighten up the summer."
With all this and more to look forward to, do not miss the event this season.
