Following the success of its 2007 spring/summer range, which achieved a 151 per cent increase in year-on-year sales, leading designer of wider fitting fashionable footwear for women, Emotion, is receiving an enthusiastic reaction to its 2008 collection, not only from existing outlets but from new accounts as well.
The fashionable design of the shoes means that Emotion is offering really desirable styles, which have provided the company with an entrée into boutiques and fashion-led stores.
Emotion has also added extra fitting elements into its range. Half sizes have been introduced in response to customer feedback, and this is the first spring/summer season in which size three has been available in all styles.
The company has also introduced more flexibility of fit into the range wherever possible. For example, Dalia - a toe-post sandal - can be adjusted to fit either an EEE or E foot.
At Pure and Moda, the metallic look styles in the range created particular interest, especially Sadie with its oversize metallic trim, and Jessica, which is a stylish 1950s-inspired low-heeled slingback that comes in full gold or with metallic piping.
Wedges are also a strong feature in the Emotion range this season with Leah, a court shoe with chop out detail and patent bow; and T-bar sandal Zara generating particular interest.
The company's collection of casual sandals is as popular as ever, particularly Belle, which offers a supersoft footbed, fitting adjustability, soft leather and stylish design.
Commenting on the reaction to Emotion's new range, national sales manager Neil Bennett says: “This year was the first time we had participated at Pure, and we were delighted with the buzz that there was around our stand. We gained many new accounts for our wide leg boots, with buyers pleased that they could purchase stock immediately, and then move on to look at the spring collection. We received a similarly enthusiastic response at Moda, with a busy stand and many visitors coming to see us by recommendation.”
