So Giancarlo Rapisardi di S Antonio with his strong family business tradition within the straw industry, Established in 1959 the Rapisardi Brand producing lovely sandals with embroided straw vamps with artisan made cork heels.
Several important American Labels noticed the product, and understood the artisan know-how and industrial expertise involved. And the product was an immediate success.
So as well as producing private labels for the USA. He started his own distribution of 100 employes. And in 1968 Franco joins him. And is still an indispensable collaborator.
His 20 year old son Nicolo inherited the Shoe factory, however he realizes that the world was rapidly changing, and eager to learn and understand all aspects of the Trade he decides to put aside the family concern, and sells the patents to important world distributors, and embarks on his own personal road to success that brings him to work in all fields of production within the leather industry, clothes -accessories and all parallel areas
During this period he Marries Barbara and starts with her a new adventure NR Rapisardi .
Nicolo realizes that the world market needs other types of footwear product. As through the 80's and the 90's media power educated and cultivated the consumers taste, and the ladies became more and more interested in fashion and accessories.
The market was longer reserved for the LUCKY FEW, but all woman of the world deserve and need to have beautiful and comfortable Italian shoes.
Nicolo starts planning production to incorporate aesthetic lines in comfort quality and design. So with heavy investment into the latest technology the results produced high standards at low prices.

The NR Rapisardi Brand was an immediate success. So Nicolo consolidates his distribution throughout his international clients. And opens an office in Florence to concentrate on style and research to be run by his fashion co-ordinator Falvio. Following all the high quality and fashion standards that made in Italy dictates. However his premature death denies Nicolo the satisfaction of seeing the end result.
Barbara now left with the Children takes over the direction of NR Rapisardi. Having been heavily involved in the past she received the confidence and respect of all the Rapisardi team. This has allowed Barbara , along with following Nicolo's past direction, to lead the Brand into new areas of Design Style and Comfort, using the latest materials and construction. And to keep the Production totally within Italy.
Barbara's leadership ,which is based on strong attention to all Rapisardi's customer needs along with her excellent inhouse team. Has added to the success already enjoyed by the Brand world wide, and ensures that NR Rapisardi has the best Italian Factories Design Team and support staff to develop the future success of the NR Brand.
