Levi’s® gives a second life to worn-out jeans by turning them into stylish shoes Since their invention by Levi Strauss in 1873, millions and millions of pairs of Levi's® Jeans have had a long and adventurous existence.
Today Levi's® has decided to give a second life to old Levi's® jeans. Re-used jeans have been collected, washed and cut to measure to create a unique and original vulcanized shoe. The upper of the “Horse Recycled” shoe is entirely made of authentic Levi's® jeans.
To create each pair of these unique shoes, Levi’s® uses two pairs of jeans. Each pair is individual, making Levi's® recycled shoes a truly cult and collectible item.
The exclusive preview range of Recycled Jeans Shoe will hit a selected number of stores in the UK including John Lewis and Levi's® Stores from October 2007. The range will be unveiled at Bread & Butter Barcelona – 4/6 July 2007 – Stand D.06.2.
The Spring/Summer 2008 Recycled Jeans collection will also include belts and baseball caps made of recycled Levi's® Jeans.
