Shoe manufacturer Grensons Shoes is celebrating its success today after winning a learndirect Achievement Award at the East Midlands Regional Awards Ceremony. The company, based in Rushden, Northants won the East Midlands Region Company Award, which recognises businesses who have used learndirect to offer training to their staff.
Grensons have provided staff with a computer suite to access learndirect courses and offer funding to all their staff interested in training. They work closely with the White Lion Training learndirect centre, who provide a tutor onsite once a week to give learners one to one support and advice.
On receiving their award Keith Moore, union learning rep for Grensons Shoes, commented:
“It’s excellent to win and this award is testament to lots of people at Grensons, the learndirect centre and the union, who have worked incredibly hard to develop the skills of our staff.”
Dereth Wood, Ufi Operations Director said:
“All of the East Midlands Regional winners are an inspiration to millions of learners across England and their commitment in developing their skills and qualifications is something we can all be proud of. Each of these individuals truly deserves recognition and I wish them the best of luck at the national ceremony in October.”
