Prolog Logistics has reconfigured and expanded its dedicated warehousing and fulfilment operation for fashion footwear retailer, Base London. New, shorter racking at one of Prolog’s six high capacity storage facilities at Sherwood Park in the East Midlands puts increased emphasis on hand picking, and will ensure quicker, more accurate fulfilment to high street retail outlets to meet growing customer demand for Base London’s range of men’s fashion shoes.
The new system will allow Prolog to achieve greater efficiencies in storage, pre-retailing and distribution of an anticipated 500,000 pairs of Base London shoes to stores across the UK next year.
Base London appointed Prolog, the UK’s leading provider of scalable logistics solutions to the retail sector, to handle its storage and logistics requirements in September 2005. At that time the anticipated volume of shoes was well below the 500,000 pairs now projected for the next 12 months, prompting Prolog to swiftly adapt its bespoke solution for Base London accordingly.
