Fame, fashion and fortune await wannabe models at this year’s Chester Fashion 2007 (CF07) with twice the number of events being held at Chester’s fashion fortnight from last year. CF07 launches with a glamorous fashion show at The Duke of Westminster’s Eaton Hall on Wednesday September 19, with the second year of Chester Fashion once again following hot on the heels of London Fashion Week.
CF07 runs from September 17 to September 29 and retailers and designers across the city are coming together to showcase the event.
One of the headline events for CF07 includes the search to find the Face of Chester. Contestants will hit the catwalk and winners will receive a year’s modelling contract with leading North West agency Boss Model Management. Last year, Liam Collins, 27, and Jess Miller, 15, took the top prizes. As a result, Liam appeared in a TV commercial for Sky Sports and Jess had interest from agencies in Japan, which she hopes to pursue this year.
There will also be events held at Chester Town Hall, The Forum Shopping Centre and The Mall Grosvenor and young designers from local colleges and Universities will get the chance to showcase their work.
Stephen Wundke, chairman of Chester Fashion 2007, said:
“It is fantastic the people of Chester can enjoy catwalk chic coupled with the profusion of participating high street stores in the city at this year’s fashion fortnight. We will find the next new face of Chester and they will be set on their way with a year’s modelling contract, taking Chester to the world as the models jet set across the globe. Chester is fast becoming the 'must see' destination in the UK and Chester Fashion Week forms an important part of making Chester a city of Festivals, with something for visitors to our great city to see, all-year-round.”
