Central Expo the latest edition to the London Shoe Events has been coined “the best shoe's exhibition in town” by organisers. The first edition held 30th September - 1st October at the Hilton London Olympia was a great success with its close knit feel and range of exciting brands that exhibited.
The Shoe organisers want to offer a great service with this show, alongside beautiful brands; the organisers offer a free shuttle bus service to and from the exhibition. A new wave of promotion has assisted the show immensely as more individuals turned up than last season and the coordination of dates with the Shoe Show London and The Kensington Shoe Event is well thought out to attract the most buyers possible.
Exhibitors included ASH, A.GOZZI, LUCIANO BARACHINI, TANGERINE, PUMP+CIRUMSTANCES, GANZO, ROBERTO CATANI, PELUSO, ANGEL SHOES, D&D, FLY FREE, ANA BONILLA, VIC MATIE', SINELA, BROSE' VOCE', VIVIEN LEE, IXI COLLECTION, CENTODUE and many more. The brands at the show have an exclusive feel, and are generally Spanish or Italian made.
Officials at Vivien Lee, felt that the brand had a good show at Central, although suggesting the show was perhaps a little more quiet than it might have been:
“I think the show is great in terms of location and presentation” says Sandra Cappella from the brand “ I understand that it is a very new show and people are just slowly taking interest in it, but we have had a great time here and written some good orders”
One of the few English exhibitors was Natalie Binstock, agent for Ash.
“We were completely aware as a company that this was a fairly new show and still needs time to get on its feet, but we were pleasantly surprised with the level of good quality, exclusive brands that were on show, it gave a common ground for this end of the market.”
Many brands were a little disappointed with the level of passing trade at the event, stressing that the European brands on show were fairly unknown in the UK and did not have many customers to bring along with them to the event.
“I think the show needs a few more seasons to settle in and buyers will start to visit it when doing the rounds at the London shows.” Continues Binstock.
