A night of musical legends
PUMA rocks the house with the PUMA States launch!
Published:  01 February, 2007

On 7th December 2006. PUMA rocked the house again last night with an all star cast celebrating the relaunch of the PUMA States. Legends from the worlds of hip hop and acid house joined forces to put on a legendary performance showcasing a musical journey of the historic States shoe.

Room 1 featured some of the world’s best ever hip hop talent – with American hip hop genius Big Daddy Kane putting in a mind blowing performance to a packed Canvas nightclub that included UK stars Maxi Jazz (Faithless) and Sway. He was joined on stage by the ‘world’s greatest entertainer, Doug E Fresh who once again blew the crowd away. Hosted by Billy Bizniz, room 1 crowds were also treated to performances from Patrick Forge, Elementz and dancefloor favourite Norman Jay.

Over in room2, the pioneers of acid house paid tribute to the States and the part it played in 1990s rave culture. Hosted by Normski, the room kicked off with London DJS Sos and Ben Sims – and was followed with a reunion of Hacienda residents Graeme Park and Mike Pickering bringing the original acid sound back to the King’s Cross venue. A Guy Called Gerald was next up, with a pumping live set – where classics like Voodoo Ray had the crowd on it’s feet. Original acid house DJ, Babyford finished off the night with one of his classic old skool sets – a delight to ravers everywhere.

The PUMA States are finally back in the UK – with 750 pairs to be sold exclusively to Size stores nation wide.
