Global supply chain leader APL Logistics, and E. Sutton, one of the UK’s leading shoe companies, have agreed an extension of their partnership.
APL Logistics now manages all of E. Sutton’s UK inbound shipments from China and South East Asia. Both parties were eager to continue their association after APL Logistics enabled improved logistics processes, the elimination of detention and demurrage charges, and advanced KPI (key performance indicators) reporting.
Mark Chalmers, Group Accountant, of E. Sutton commented, “The services that APL Logistics provide have enabled E Sutton to better manage their products and deliver a much improved service to our customers. I can speak for all in the E. Sutton team when I say that APL Logistics has delivered outstanding results across the supply chain”.
The strong recent growth of E. Sutton’s business, and moves to source 100% of its production internationally, has led to important changes in the company’s supply chain structure. Since July 2006, APL Logistics has been working with E. Sutton supporting these changes, with particular focus on working closely with E. Sutton’s own personnel in China, improving vendor management, and coordinating inbound flows to their UK DC to meet increasingly demanding performance levels.
