The concepts for the Women's, Men's and Children's A/W 2008 collections from Hush Puppies have just been revealed and to follow is an overview of the key features of the collections:
Women's
The highlight of the Women's A/W08 line is the fabulous 50th Birthday shoes created with stylist Rachel Fanconi. A fantastic collection of modern styles designed from the Hush Puppies archives brought up to date with the latest heel shapes and upper silhouettes teamed with stunning brogueing, antiqued leather, suede and patent detailing, organza lacing/bows. The range features ankle boots, party shoes and sandals and combine Hush Puppies high quality and comfort with on-trend style and sophistication.
The Hush Puppy designers have concentrated on super-soft character-full leathers for both the casual and dress sections of the Main Line A/W08 Collection. Antiqued effects play a big role in providing this line with superb character and beautiful linings and attention to detail has been built into the internal specifications of many of the shoes and boots.
The colour palette for the new season provides some new exciting colours including core colours (Black, Dark Brown, Tan), fashion colours (Deep Purple, Bottle Green, Rich Red, Teal, Grey), suede (Black, Dark Brown, Camel, Olive, Deep Purple, Cardinal Red) and metallic (Bronze, Silver, Pewter, Lilac)
Boots feature highly in 2008, following trends from 2007 and new ‘Biker Boot' styles have been added. Look-out for character-full grain and calf skin leathers that are finished superbly on one new project as well as corner stitch productions that continue to be a huge trend across Europe. Fur linings appear, as do leg lacing alongside some exciting dress boot projects that incorporate stunning brogue and strap detailing teamed with a new Hush Puppies comfort system.
A comprehensive collection of fashionable heeled shoes feature in 2008 again following trends from 2007. Attention to detail is strong with brogueing, t-straps, buttons, bows, multi-stitching and two tone leathers matched with on-trend metallics putting Hush Puppies on the style map for 2008.
Fashion flats continue to be popular in the market place in 2008 and again beautiful character-full detailing features strongly alongside bold colours.
A collection of shoes with Eco-Friendly attributes has also been introduced which combine casual style and comfort with environmental consideration, topping off what Hush Puppies believes to be a very exciting range.
Men's
The highlight of the Men's A/W08 line is the fabulous 50th Birthday shoes created with stylist Phillip Bloch. A bold collection of on-trend styles have taken inspiration from the Hush Puppies archives and include contemporary dress shoes and funky trainers that incorporate strong detailing including brogueing, patent, suede and soft leathers with modern colours, teamed with Hush Puppies high quality and comfort.
The key characters for the Main Line A/W08 Collection include what Hush Puppies is calling ‘younger shoes for all ages'. It includes more contemporary casuals as well as a new group of contemporary formals that team style with the expected Hush Puppies quality, comfort and value.
The ‘grunge sport' range has been designed with casual jeans and sporty style in mind.
These contemporary casuals include character ‘Pull-Up' Tumbled Grain Leathers on a rubber unit constructed for superb flexibility and style features include double elastic gore slip-ons and sporty-styled lace ups with a zig-zag Velcro bar.
Rugged casual styling in waxy leathers, cushion shock absorbing layers and rubber treadsole feature in the ‘Volume range'. ‘Dual Fit' is also offered where simply removing the blue insert adds an additional fitting for the wider fuller foot.
The casuals/jeans wear ‘Atom range' have a wide age appeal and include plenty of soft character including oily leathers with rubber soles and deep ‘AirBodyMoc' cushion footbeds and leather/textile linings.
For city life the ‘London Collection' offers contemporary dress shoes with an updated British look. Sleek styling, elongated pointed toe shapes incorporate flexible rubber soles, metallic detail on the sole and Union Jack detailing in the heel. This range revives Hi-Shine Polished leathers and also include Burnished Tan Leather, distressed Wolverine Suede as well as coloured leather.
Super soft, high quality, tumbled antiqued leathers, soft pointed toe shapes and brogueing feature in the ‘Sentry' range, creating a modern twist on formal shoes, and the ‘Le Mans' range teams formal with casual offering complete versatility.
Kids
Attention to detail teamed with fabulous colours and materials are key features of the Infant, Junior and Senior A/W 08 Kid's range. With everything from fancy party styles to casual classics for the girls and formal smarts to sporty styles for the boys the range has something for every child and any occasion.
The Infant range has introduced many more materials and colour combinations to the A/W 08 range. Feature leathers, including Smoke Crackle Leather, patents and mesh all offer soft and suppleness and teamed with stunning embroidery, bright flashes, appliqué detailing and funky footbeds Hush Puppies has created a range that teams fashion with reliability and quality.
Sports influences appear throughout this range, following key adult trends and although basic casual styling is definitely a strong theme in this range, pretty and girlie party shoes and more formal boy's styles also feature.
Key features such as return/wrap Velcro and inside zip boots have been developed to offer fitting benefits and leather linings, coloured detail footbed patterns and slimmer profile two-colour units are the icing on the cake for this strong range.
The Junior and Senior A/W 08 Collection reflects the trends seen in the Infant Collection. Formal fashions feature in both the girl's and boy's ranges as do more casual sporty styles.
The attention to detail is prevalent with patents, suedes and feature leathers along with padded collars and ‘Wavereflex' technology offering supreme comfort and quality. Single and double adjust return/wrap velcros and inside zips also make the range easy to use and slimmer profile units offer a wider choice for different sizes.
Ladies styles have also been brought into the Senior range, offering a slightly more sophisticated look for the older girls!
