Puma have designed a specific shoe in honour of the Beijing Olympics. The USAN shoe by Puma is described as "a key sport lifestyle shoe, inspired by running "and has been created by Puma as a celebratory style in honour of the games.
The USAN is constructed using Unified Technology. There is no midsole to the shoe; the upper is stitched around the outsole with an internal chassis. The benefits are that it's lighter and uses fewer materials such as gum/glue giving improved flexibility. This shoe features the signature eight-lane PUMA RUNWAY graphic seen on apparel and accessories for the new AW 2008 season. The graphic has also been adopted by the students on the Central Saint Martin's MA course who have designed a PUMA Runway tracksuit and adapted the Runway Graphic to produce their own PUMA print in celebration of the Olympic Games.
