PURE Review : Pure storming success
Pure (February 11 – 13) last week ended on a high attracting the most ever visitors – showing a 4% increase from last February’s event.
Published:  01 March, 2007

Among key buyers attending were Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, John Lewis, El Corte Ingles, Debenhams and key independents Drome, Stone and Psyche. Creating a real buzz, buyers were impressed by the strength of the product on show. Over 800 collections showcased at the London Olympia venue, including over 160 brands new to Pure.

Regular visitor, Becky Offord, Owner of Daisy's in London commented "Pure is always a busy three day show and my decision this season to come along on the last day instead of the first, paid off. It was still busy but it was easier to stay focused. At Pure I find quality fashion forward collections with a twist and this season I picked up many new suppliers. I have never left Pure without placing an order and I just could never miss a Pure show.

Pure had an impressive increase of 10% in actual number of overseas visitors compared to last year, with good attendance from Ireland, Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy and France. Exhibitor Geoff Arrowsmith, Director of brands La Rocka and Mr Freedom enthused "We have had an amazing show, the reaction has been great with key buyers visiting our stand. As well as getting some excellent UK leads, we have also had massive international interest from USA, Japan and orders placed with buyers from The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Malta. We took orders of £20k by the second day so for us this is a real achievement."

This season Pure’s Spirit section was the largest ever, in a hall of its own with KISS djs adding to the atmosphere, it housed exciting young creative labels. New exhibitor Sandra Porto, PR Manager of Eucalyptus said "the Spirit section is great. Many visitors came to our stand without us having to pre-invite them. We took many orders and received lots of positive feedback. New leads and accounts include buyers from Greece, Ireland, Scotland and UK, of which many are London based retailers. For us Pure is the best way to start and move forward."

John Snare, MD of Braintree, supplying eco-friendly hemp and bamboo fashion was also another happy exhibitor we experienced another good show, busy with a steady flow of people, giving us no time to sit and wait. Our sales increase also reflects upon the growing awareness of eco-friendly fashion, and this time, we saw major buyers approaching the brand, interested in moving forward."

Buyers and exhibitors alike enjoyed the well attended daily catwalk show and Drapers’ fashion forecasts, offering exclusive trend and industry information which make Pure the place for all fashion-forward retailers. Pure looks forward to another successful show. Next season’s dates are 5.6.7. August 2007.
