Hush Puppies, famous for their casual style, are taking the brand to new levels with spring and summer 2009 making a bold move into the fashion arena.
Hush Puppies launch an ultra-modern women's collection that includes updated versions of HP classics from cork wedges and chunky wooden heels, the hallmarks of signature casual style, and other more daring designs. Fierce cone heels, sling backs and retro peep-toes provide a strong fashion element.
Similarly the men's collection has taken popular designs and brought them up to date adding stylishly designed uppers and new materials and leather effects.
Hand-sewn sandals in waxy casual leathers are ideal for wear with jeans. Boat shoes and loafers have been created in light, innovative materials such as canvas to be worn with the season's relaxed tailoring.
Minute attention to detail is evident in the women's collection where linings feature ditsy floral prints and soles have beautifully designed treads. The men's range has a Basset hound pattern in the tread which makes for a quirky detail.
The Kids' range is bigger than ever before this season. Mainline styles have been furthered to feature in more colours and fabrics and also benefit from enhanced fit. Design in this range also demonstrates the same attentions to detail as Men and Women's and styles exhibit beautiful embroidery amongst other effects sure to catch your eye. Wolverine suedes have been incorporated to make sure colours stay bright and really pop.
Women's
With many styles given a Vintage twist, the collection sits well with the romantic trend. The T-bar detail and cute peep-toe and fancy cut-out uppers of CRUSH would be perfect at a tea party.
A vibrant palette awash with romantic hues perfectly complements the collection's vintage accents; pretty poppy, spicy paprika, grass green and cornfield yellow evoke the pre-war English countryside.
Tapping into the Safari trend that is set to sweep the high street, the rich chocolate browns and deep sumptuous tan leathers seen in the sandals and wedges; ABACA being a perfect example, fit the bill. The glint of precious metals adds extra opulence, as seen in the bronze and gold leathers of SIZZLE and CHIANTI.
Men
HPs release a collection for SS09 that borrows only from the best characteristics from their 50 years in footwear and aims to move the design into a new era, and delivering something for every occasion and every mood.
Sandals span urban elegance in sleek black leather as well as the casual style that HP is famed for with rich waxy brown leathers check out JETTY and LONGSHORE. Lightweight soles mean that style is not compromised for comfort.
Materials continue to be innovative with distressed suede accomplishing a new casual look in PICCADILY.
Over-stitching, buckles and a variety of quality leathers imbue the collection with a modern energy. Sport elements are introduced to make styles that are city slick.. The low profiles give styles such as URBANITE a streamlined look while the rubber, unit-constructed soles and leather linings provide suberb flexibility and durability - ideal if you plan on taking up free running this summer!
