Bdirect launches ‘Holy Grail’ for fashion websites
Published:  01 March, 2007

Bdirect has recently launched the ‘10CMS’ - a completely new style of Flash content management system to help improve the purchaser appeal of fashion retail websites. Created by Bdirect, 10CMS will mean companies can now have more interactive and animated websites without spending a fortune on technical support.

10CMS has been developed with the online fashion retailer in mind. They can now offer a much more ‘real’ experience to purchasers by creating sites with animated graphics, special effects, sounds and interactivity that can be updated immediately. In the past any Flash-based updates would have to be outsourced to an expert agency, resulting in delay and increased cost. This will make online shopping less of a ‘flat’ experience for the purchaser and mean retailers can communicate changes such as stock availability and new products in real time.

Yamarama, the UK online active wear retailer, has already worked with Bdirect to build its website using 10CMS. Sam Magee, director of Yamarama says: "Being a retail business that’s solely reliant on Internet sales, I knew I had to get it right first time. My site needs to be updated on a regular basis and the Flash element brings the site to life, so customers can see stock in its entirety. I didn’t want to fork out lots of money to pay someone else to manage this content - 10CMS gives me full control.

"Branding is key on my site and 10CMS allows you to set the design, so that when content is altered you can ensure the font, colour and look of the site remains consistent. The e-commerce elements of the site, which uses Pay Pal, were also easily incorporated. I don’t think it’s over-egging things to say that they’ve created the ‘Holy Grail’ of website design."
