Traditional English shoemaker Loake has been granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to The Queen. Loake has been producing fine, handmade Goodyear Welted men’s shoes at its factory in Northamptonshire for over 125 years.
The construction of a pair of Loake Goodyear Welted shoes is a highly skilled process involving some 130 craftspeople, 75 shoe parts and over 200 different operations. It takes, on average, eight weeks to complete each pair.
Commenting on the appointment, managing director Andrew Loake said:
‘Receiving a Royal Warrant is an honour for the company and its employees, and a tribute to the shoemaking tradition that five generations of the Loake family have been proud to maintain.’
