The Hassall Collection has ‘wow’ stamped all over it
Published:  15 April, 2007

British brides are set to fall head over heels in love with Diane Hassall’s new eponymous collection. Especially if the reaction to the launch of her beautiful, cutting edge, vintage inspired designs at the recent Sposatex fashion fair in Amsterdam is anything to go by.

Each of the 12 limited edition styles, all named after English Roses, will be available in a select group of stockists from January 2007. Each pair will be made to order (with a six-week lead time) and created exclusively by hand to provide brides with a unique accessory, which they can individualise further with a special service that allows the wedding date to be branded on the sueded leather sole, should they require it.

Historic highlights with a modern twist lend nostalgia and romance to the premium brand, underpinning the essence of its DNA, which is reinforced with the use of luxurious materials and quality craftsmanship from bygone eras. Italian Silks in purest ivory, oyster pearl and vintage rose are adorned with shimmering Swarovski crystal buckles and beading, vintage lace, velvet bows, pearl buttons, embroidered organza’s, mother of pearl buckles and ruching. The collection incorporates the prettiest bridal pump ever seen as well as halterbacks, slingbacks, classic courts and open toe sandals, all made with Italian kid leather lining and socks.

"With hem lines rising, so too is the importance of the bridal shoe," says Richard Marsh, managing director of Rainbow Club who brought in Di Hassall as the group’s head of design, giving her overall charge of the Rainbow Club, Gabriella & Lucido and Else brand as well as her own. "With Di’s influence, the bride’s excitement can start with the dress and be carried right through to her shoes," he adds.

Even un-wrapping the Hassall shoes will be an experience for the shoeaholic, with each pair presented in a sheer organza bag and exquisite box with a personally signed note from Di.

Ranging from £165 - £185 a pair (Wholesale: £70 - £78), sophisticated brides with a passion for shoes, will now be able to afford avant-garde glamour with footwear that has the ‘wow’ factor stamped all over it.
