Start-rite Shoes Ltd, has today announced they have sold their retail business One Small Step to high fashion children’s shoe brand Step2wo in order to concentrate on growing the Start-rite brand further.

Step2wo was created by Nick and Lulu Rayne, who are part of the renowned British shoe-making ‘Rayne’ family, with concessions in Harvey Nichols (London, Leeds, Edinburgh), Brown Thomas (Dublin, Cork), Selfridges Oxford Street and Fenwick Brent Cross. In addition to selling its own label footwear in its concessions, Step2wo also carries brands ranging from Gucci and Armani Junior, to Dolce & Gabbana and Ralph Lauren.

Non-executive board member, Peter Lamble, said: “We have taken the decision to concentrate on our core business and we’re delighted to have sold the business to an accomplished retailer in Step2wo. We look forward to an ongoing trading relationship.”

Commenting on the sale, Step2wo’s Nick Rayne, said: “Lulu and I are looking forward to developing the sales of both Step2wo and Start-rite shoes in the UK through the existing One Small Step locations, which are all located in highly populated areas with excellent footfall.”
The Start-rite brand will continue to be sold through the transferring stores and all One Small Step stores will be re-branded to Step2wo during 2016.
