January 2022: Footwear agents Gus Marshall and John Lornie have partnered to champion The Northern Show, providing retailers and brands based across the north with a convenient and accessible stockroom to showcase the latest AW22 ranges.
Over 20 footwear and lifestyle brands are showcasing their AW22 range at The Northern Show, which begins this February. The event first takes place in the stunning market town of Wetherby on the 14th
and 15th of February, with the second show running on the 16th and 17th of February in Worsley,
Manchester.
Each ‘stockroom’ is based within easily accessible areas for customers across the North of England. Wetherby’s The Mecure hotel, and Manchester’s Novotel are perfectly positioned on the A1M and M60, respectively. For buyers wishing to stay overnight, they can make the most of a discounted hotel
room rate.
“The issues the footwear industry has suffered in the past 18 months has impacted the sense of community between brands and agents, making it a huge challenge for everyone to stay connected. By setting up these stockrooms, our goal is to build a solid regional base that provides retailers and brands a chance to properly catch up, and learn about new trends and shoe collections for the upcoming season.” said Gus Marshall, owner of Crosby Shoe Agencies.
The brands showing at The Northern Show include Legero, Superfit, Think, Fly London, Softinos, Roka Bags, Heavenly Feet, FreeSpirit (formerly Earth Spirit), Wonders, Plakton, Cora+Spink Bags, Triumph Motorcycle Lifestyle, Crown Caps, Art, El Naturalista, Caprice, Vionic, Pikolinos, Hogl, Regarde Le Ciel, Unisa and Yokono.
“We’d love to see Wetherby take on a Garda approach of having the whole town taken up with the shoe industry for a couple of days and see Manchester become more of a show.The trade’s response to the idea from brands and retailers alike has been really positive so far” added John Lornie, owner of The JL Agencies.
