The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers, whose members were originally the shoemakers of the City of London, is one of the City’s oldest livery companies. Today, they work philanthropically to promote the British footwear industry, supporting footwear design and entrepreneurship in both education and fashion, nurturing young talent and promoting excellence via the annual ‘Shoe Oscars’, the Cordwainers Footwear Awards.
